The failure of the Trumpcare bill is a huge blessing for the
Republican Party and for conservatives.
And, not for nothing, the American people.
The ACA (Obamacare) is doomed to collapse. It was, arguably, designed to collapse. When it fails, the blame will lie squarely
with the Democrats. They will have
created a huge disaster without any assistance from the Republicans.
The AHCA ‘Trumpcare’ bill would not have saved the ACA. It would have tinkered with a few of the worst
aspects, but it would not have solved for the internal contradictions that will
create the inevitable collapse.
If you mandate coverage for pre-existing conditions, it is
not insurance. Period. The systems is doomed to fail as long as
that provision remains a part of the law.
By installing a fatally flawed version of the ACA dressed up
as Trumpcare, the failure of the system would be hung around the necks of the
Republican Party. The ACHA is stupid economically
and politically.
Passing Trumpcare would have led the GOP in to a trap that
ultimately ushered in nationalized healthcare.
